Description

Cream of Artichoke is made using chopped artichokes, mixed with Roi extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, and natural flavoring. Its rich, salty, and creamy flavor makes an excellent addition to tarts and other dishes.

Artichokes are a member of the thistle family and while present in Italy since the 1400s, they are known for their globe structure with petal-like bracts, which are usually edible only at the fleshy base of the globe. Once the bracts are removed the bristly "choke" is revealed, the base of which is considered the best part, the artichoke heart.

Roi is a small family-owned EVOO producer that has been operating for four generations and is focused on quality. The estate is located in one of the most unique corners of Italy. Olive trees grow on terraced land in very steep hills and cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The climate and sea influence the oil's wonderful taste and unique aroma.

Delicious

Bought and was taste testing for next Christmas. It is literally just ground artichokes in olive oil. I really like this brand. It was great on Italian bread and sandwiches.

Very Olive Oil Forward

Decent taste but you have to love olive oil. This could serve as the oil in a vinaigrette but the consistency is not that of a spread.

Great flavor and high quality

Taggiasca olives are so delicious and this product does them justice. High quality, without the addition of flavors like garlic that would cover the superb flavor of the olives.
