Questions
What is squid ink pasta, and what do I serve it with?
Linguine with cuttlefish ink — black on the plate, with a faint brininess rather than a fishy taste. Traditionally it goes with seafood: clams, shrimp, or a simple sauce of garlic, chilli and olive oil. It's the most striking thing you can put on a table with almost no effort.
What's the difference between cantucci and biscotti?
Cantucci are biscotti — the word simply means "twice-baked," and it covers the whole family. Cantucci are the Tuscan version, which is a little shorter than the American version of biscotti. Cantucci - Almond, hard, and made to be dipped. What Americans usually call biscotti is closer to the Tuscan original than most people realise.
What's in the basil growing kit, and how long does it take?
Basil takes about two to three weeks from seed to first leaves, and a few more before there's enough to cut. Follow the instructions on the box.
