  • Prunotto uses the best bitter oranges to produce this fantastic marmalade. Obtained by working with the best lemons and only the addition of sugar cane, allows Prunotto to rediscover the true flavor of Mediterranean jam. Strictly fresh fruit is used.

    All the production processes are done manually according to the old country tradition of home production, where fruit is collected in copious quantities in the summer and turned into a jam before being consumed in the winter. The method used is a classic method used since ancient times for the preservation of fruit. The fruit after being thoroughly cleaned and washed are simply cooked in a pot with the addition of sugar cane.

    Oranges were introduced more than three centuries ago by the Saracens, contributing to the spread of the plant on the Gargano coast and near Genoa. In the mid-nineteenth century citrus became famous in Calabria and Sicily throughout Europe and are marketed mainly in London and New York until this market are subsequently replaced by the California citrus.

    Mariangela Prunotto has been organically farming in the Piedmont region for over 20 years. They produce a wide variety of products including, jams, honey, legumes, fruits, and sauces, and is powered with solar energy.
